In an earlier post I wrote about the “poofiness” of my new wig. It’s just too much hair for me. So, I’ve got an appointment on Friday with my mother’s friend’s hairdresser who has been styling wigs for cancer patients, free of charge, for years. But here’s my dilemna – I’ve gotten compliments on the new style.
I ventured into work this week with my new “poofy” wig. The general consensus is that the color match is perfect, that there’s definitely more hair, but the majority like the look. Yesterday, the cashier at the cafe I eat lunch at commented, “Oh, I really like your hair.” I wondered if she wondered how I grew so much of it over the weekend. Then, tonight a young Boars Head Deli Meat salesman at Publix said “I really like your hairstyle.” I think he was trying to get me to buy some Oven Gold Roasted Chicken Breast. He’ll make a good salesman.
I decided to go over to my mother’s house and get some other opinions. My mother and her friend agree that the color match is great, but that the style needs to be “updated.”
My brother likes my “buzz” cut look and thinks I could pull that off. Hmm – I don’t think I’m ready to show off my GI Jane look. He says I’ve got a nice-shaped head. And, I have to agree with him on that. I have no bumps, wrinkles, dents or divots on my nearly “chrome-dome” head.
So, I’ve decided to keep my appointment on Friday and see what the hairdresser recommends.
I also got myself some nice skull caps from Sparkling Earth, which has a really large selection. Most of the ones I got are plain colors but I got a couple of cute prints – this one and this one. I also asked my daughter to be on the lookout for a Gator skull cap.
very cool topic…anyone else?
