Good News
My surgeon called today to tell me that the tests showed the cancer had not spread beyond those couple of lymph nodes. Yeah!!
We’ve decided that I will do chemo first and then surgery. She has scheduled an appointment with the oncologist for Wednesday.
I am lucky to live in a region that has two large hospital systems and in my job position I have many colleagues in the healthcare industry whom I can rely on for valuable information and resources.
I’ve had one really strange coincidence since this all began. One of my sisters-in-law who is a nurse, but hadn’t practiced in a few years, had returned to the nursing profession after taking a nursing refresher course this past summer. When my husband called her to tell her about my news she told him she had just gotten a job at the cancer institute of one the two major hospital systems in our region.
