This Weekend

This weekend is my last weekend before chemo starts.  My daughter drove down from college last night for the weekend and I’m looking forward to spending time with her.  She has a huge DVD collection of movies and TV shows and brought several with her for those upcoming days when I will probably have no energy to do anything. I’m just going to take it easy this weekend – watch some college football, go out to dinner, do some shopping and maybe go to a movie.

My cousin reminded me that her mother, who had breast cancer and unfortunately passed away from it several years ago, never lost her hair from chemotherapy.

Hopefully, I have inherited the very rare don’t-lose-hair-during-chemotherapy gene from my dad’s side of the family.

Enjoy your weekend and your daughter. Have a lot of laughs. You may not have as many energy less days as you think. You are so full of joy and your attitude will give you a lot of strength even in the tough days. While watching movies, don’t forget “Last Holiday”.

I am thinking of you and know that you have chosen the right team to treat and support.

I send a warm hug and a blessing:
“May the Lord bless you with His presence,
May He return to you the kindness you have shown me,
May He honor your compassionate heart,
    In Jesus’s Name, Amen”
